about

The writing of the songs on The Sweet Buzz of Fuzz started when the band were seniors in high school, then recorded when they were freshman in college. During this time, the band was playing shows in basements, Knights of Columbus halls, and college dormitories.

This collection of songs saw the band depart from the angst and screaming of the 2 songs on the Shandle Records comp released the year before and their previous incarnation (Oswald's Last Plea). Instead, they embraced a more mature, indie sound, clearly influenced by many heavy hitters of the time (Mineral, Texas is the Reason, the Promise Ring).

The same recording of "Christopher Columbo" appeared on Deep Elm Records' Emo Diaries Volume 3 (released in early 1999).
